Right now, animal cruelty is being hidden in plain sight.
Walk down any supermarket aisle and you’ll see images of happy animals, green fields, and smiling farmers. But behind many of those products are unlicensed farms, suffering animals, and dismally poor conditions that would shock most shoppers — if only they knew.
The good news? That could finally change.
The Government is considering mandatory animal welfare labelling — and we need your help to make it happen.
This would be a simple, powerful system ranking products from 1-5 (5 being the lowest). It would expose the truth behind products like foie gras made by force-feeding, products that are so cruel they’re illegal to produce in the UK yet are still imported. It would shine a light on how animals are really treated.
Who does this help?
- Millions of animals. Especially chickens — the most abused land animals by number — who are usually bred to grow quickly, with no regard to the suffering this causes.
- Society. Welfare labelling could create a £139.9 million societal benefit over the next decade.
- Consumers. Because people deserve to know what they’re buying — and to be better able to choose better, like plant-based items, instead!
