Join thousands taking action for animals from home

Every day, millions of animals are suffering inside an industry built to keep them out of sight, screaming, and struggling in ways the public rarely sees before they are ultimately slaughtered.

Animal Protectors, Animal Equality’s digital volunteer group, demand an end the suffering and exploitation animals are forced to endure on farms and at slaughterhouses by:

  • Pushing for laws and protections that tackle animal cruelty
  • Exposing the hidden realities animals face on farms and slaughterhouses with the world
  • Inspiring people to leave animals off their plates and institutions to transition to plant-based alternatives

All this can be achieved through simple online actions that will be sent straight to your inbox!

You can complete these tasks from the comfort of your home using a phone or computer, taking only 5 minutes out of your day. These quick actions may look like:

  • Sending emails to politicians and corporations
  • Calling out companies and decision-makers on social media
  • Sharing our investigations and findings to boost to wider audiences

Help bring our campaigns to life as an In-Person Animal Protector. This is where the movement gets loud and impossible to ignore.

This dedicated activism group brings the fight for animals to the streets: in front of Parliament to push for legislative change, at the steps of corporations profiting from animal exploitation, and at the doors of companies that broke their promise to animals.

  • Legal protections for fish

Thirty years ago, the UK Government was first advised to introduce species-specific slaughter laws for farmed fish. These animals suffer and feel pain, yet decades on, they still don’t have the most basic legal protections in place. That advice was repeated in 2014, and again in 2023, when the Animal Welfare Committee’s scientific advisors recommended…

  • Why the foie gras import ban is at risk, and how to save it

Why the foie gras import ban is at risk, and how to save it

Foie gras is produced by force-feeding ducks and geese multiple times a day. A tube is pushed down their throats and food is pumped into their bodies until their livers become diseased and swell to ten times their normal size. The cruelty is so clear-cut that the UK banned its production nearly twenty years ago,…

100 activists at the doors of Olivér Várhelyi, EU Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare

It’s time for him to start listening to those who demand more rights for animals, not to the industries that profit from their suffering. Two days of intense actions organised by Animal Equality in Brussels ended with a resounding finale: more than 100 activists from across Europe outside DG Santé, demanding to be heard. At…

When Veganuary Ends, Your Vegan Journey Doesn’t Have To

Veganuary is an exciting time – whether you’re newly vegan, trying plant-based eating for the first time, or you’ve been living compassionately for years. It’s a month that invites everyone, without judgement, to explore a way of eating that’s kinder to animals and better for the planet. However, the impact of these choices does not…

Do you have questions? We have the answers!

Why are Animal Equality and Animal Protectors primarily dedicated to protecting animals on farms and slaughterhouses?

+

Every year in the world more than 70 billion farmed land animals are bred and killed for human consumption. This number does not even include farmed fish. Despite these alarming statistics, farmed animals are often forgotten, with donations made to help them accounting for less than 1% of all donations made to animal charities.

By supporting Animal Equality, you will help us create a world where they don’t have to suffer.

What do I need to do to be part of Animal Protectors?

+

All you need to do is complete the registration form and that’s it, you’re already part of the team! You will start receiving emails with simple and effective online actions to help animals immediately, such as signing petitions and contacting politicians.

How do the actions of Animal Protectors help animals?

+

These actions expose the truth of the cruel and abusive treatment of animals inside farms and slaughterhouses. Through this, they inspire people to leave animals off their plates, motivate major companies to say no to confinement of animals, and put pressure on the Government to pass laws to protect animals.

Can I also support street actions?

+

Every action for animals matters, both online and in person. While being an Animal Protector allows you to help animals no matter where you are, street actions give you the opportunity to bring our campaigns to life.
