FAQ

Do I need experience in activism?

+

No. Many participants will be taking part in their first public action. Our team will guide and support you throughout the experience: all that’s needed is a willingness to protect animals.

What should I expect during the actions?

+

Our actions are peaceful, organised, and designed to make a strong public impact for animals. They often take place in visible public spaces and may involve standing or walking for extending periods, chanting, and holding placards.

Participants may be photographed or filmed. During the actions, you’ll be representing our campaign and are expected to follow shared messaging, which will be provided in advance.

All participants are expected to follow guidelines for respectful and non-violent protest throughout.

Full details of the planned activities will be shared ahead of time after confirmation, and our team will provide a briefing in Brussels to make sure everyone feels prepared and supported.

What language will be used? What if I don’t speak English?

+

English will be the primary language of coordination during the activities, as participants will be arriving from various countries. Someone from our Italian/Spanish team will always be present to support you and ensure everyone feels comfortable and included.

Can I participate if I live outside the UK?

+

Absolutely! Participation is open to people from all over the world, although assessed based on our limited resources. Join us and make history for animals!

I am interested but not sure yet. Should I register?

+

Yes. Registering doesn’t commit you to participating. It simply allows us to receive all the details and discuss your participation options with you. You can decide later before confirming.

When will I receive confirmation?

+

Our team will contact you within three working days days of registration to share next steps and details.

It is essential for those who submit initial interest to respond to correspondence in a timely manner to best coordinate and ensure participation.

What costs are covered?

+

Animal Equality will support key parts of the trip, including transportation to and from Brussels, accommodation, and on-the-ground coordination during the action.

Participants will be responsible for organising and covering their own meals and local transportation within Brussels.

Will I have free time?

+

There likely will be time between organised actions to relax and recharge your energy.

Alcohol, marijuana, or illegal substances are strictly prohibited during all activities. Violation leads to immediate removal and reimbursement of AE’s costs.
