Meet Chris:
One of Our In-Person Animal Protectors
Ever wondered what it’s actually like to stand up for animals in person? Hear from Chris on why he shows up, again and again.
Behind every protest, banner drop, and voice raised, there are people like Chris.
Here’s what he told us about why he keeps showing up for animals.

I join Animal Equality actions to help end factory farming and build a world where all animals are respected and protected.
Chris, Animal Protector
Demonstrations held by Animal Equality in Edinburgh to oppose Scottish salmon farming have been loud!
I had the chance to join forces with campaigners at the Scottish Parliament to speak up for salmon in a way that my representatives could not ignore.
Chris is one powerful voice in a growing movement.

Chris fights against one of the least talked-about, and least visible, forms of farmed animal exploitation in the UK: the cruel salmon industry.

The brutal salmon industry traps sensitive migratory fish in cramped, filthy cages, subjecting them to lives of unbearable suffering. Farmed salmon are wounded, diseased, and eaten alive by sea lice.
Chris, Animal Protector
Salmon farming’s collateral cruelty also abuses lumpfish and wrasse, treating these fish as dispensable ‘cleaner fish’ machines.
Yet even more fish, such as anchovies, herring, and mackerel, are killed to feed farmed salmon. We expose the horrific truth of the salmon scandal lurking in Scotland’s sea lochs.
Hidden behind misleading labels and enhanced colouring are salmon factories that harm the environment, wild salmon populations, and Scotland’s world-renowned reputation as a nation of warmth and hospitality.
We speak truth to power at the Scottish Parliament, pressuring decision-makers to act and end the Scottish salmon crisis.

Fight against this cruel industry
Disease. Sea lice. The suffering of salmon in these farms is well documented. The industry’s answer is to expand anyway.
We say: no way.

Protect Fish
Scientists confirm that fish feel pain and suffer. Protect these sensitive beings by choosing plant-based alternatives to animal food products.
